The ultimate guy's hot dog is all about the toppings. We start with a seriously juicy all-beef Hebrew National frank and then let the toppings do the rest of the magic. Get your bibs ready, 'cause it's gonna get deliciously messy!
1 package 7 hot dog buns
2 Tblsp. Chipotle Hot Sauce
1 C. Mayonnaise
Juice of 1/2 lime
Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard
1 medium finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped red pepper
1 Tblsp. Olive Oil
1 C. finely chopped cabbage
1 C. crispy bacon, finely chopped
Jalapeno potato chips, finely crushed
Make chipotle-lime sauce by mixing first three ingredients in a bowl. Add water, one teaspoon at a time until it has a smooth consistency. Place in a squeeze bottle and set aside next to ketchup and mustard.
In a non-stick pan, saute onions and red pepper with olive oil on medium heat for 4-5 minutes until browned.
Place onions and peppers, chopped bacon, cabbage, and potato chips in separate bowls with small tongs.
Serve hot dogs in lightly toasted buns and have guests pile toppings and finish with chipotle sauce and ketchup.
Makes 7 hot dogs.
