'Hardwired... To Self-Destruct' is just three months away.

It's been nearly a decade since Metallica last rocked our faces off with Death Magnetic. That's why the video for their new number "Hardwired" from their upcoming album, Hardwired... To Self-Destruct, sounds like a welcome return to form.

In a post on their website, the band introduces the 3-disc album's track list and they write that it "represents the next phase of our journey as Metallica and we are so excited to share it with you." The single premiered on a Minneapolis rock station on August 18th, and Metallica's post indicates they hope fans get to "hear a lot more of it in the coming days."

Metallica's been at work on Hardwired... for years and drummer Lars Ulrich has promised metalheads can anticipate a "less frenetic" approach than fans heard in Death Magnetic, reported Ultimate Classic Rock.

Hardwired... To Self-Destruct will be available November 18, 2016. Metallica will offer a free download of the new single to anyone pre-ordering through their website.
