Miles Teller Cast as Goose’s Son in Upcoming ‘Top Gun’ Sequel

Top Gun: Maverick, the upcoming sequel of the 1986 Tom Cruise classic, has some new blood.

31-year-old actor Miles Teller (Whiplash, War Dogs) has been cast as the son of Goose, played by Anthony Edwards in the original movie.

His son, whose name is still unknown, will serve as the new protege to Maverick (Cruise) in the sequel.

Cruise and Teller will also join Val Kilmer, who will reprise his role of Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. 

The sequel will take place in the world of drone warfare, with the pilots of Marverick’s generation contending with the decline of dogfighting.

Top Gun: Marverick is slated for relgmease on July 12, 2019.
