On the list of baffling Nick Diaz quotes, his statement about never paying taxes during the post-fight press conference at UFC 158 on Saturday might rank with the best of them.

Diaz told reporters (via MMA Opinion) that he hasn’t paid taxes, is having serious financial issues and needs to find ways to make more money:

“I can’t be jumping teams. I just have to invest a little bit more, now that I have a little bit more money. You know what? I’ve never paid taxes in my life. I’m probably going to go to jail.”

Because Diaz is such a wild card in life, you really have no idea if he is even aware of the things that come out of his mouth. It certainly makes him one of the most entertaining characters in all of sports, but you also can’t help but roll your eyes sometimes.

For example, after Saturday night’s fight with Georges St-Pierre, Diaz told Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview inside the cage that he was “done” fighting because he didn’t like getting beat up.
