Morgan Freeman Was the Real Winner of the 2016 Oscars
He did it all for the cookies.
His one onscreen moment at the 2016 Oscars may have been when he presented the Best Picture award, but Morgan Freeman still managed to steal the show right before the closing credits.
After stepping aside to allow the Spotlight team to bask in the glory of their big win, host Chris Rock returned to close out the evening’s festivities. Thanks to a troupe of visiting Girl Scouts, Rock had a box of Thin Mints in his hand that didn’t go unnoticed. Like a fox hunting its prey, Freeman darted for the box and made a clean break before escaping with cookies in-hand, turning the moment into a highlight of the telecast. Watch it below:

We’re not sure if Freeman contributed to the Girl Scouts’ immensely large donation pot of $65,000, but to be honest, it doesn’t matter. Morgan Freeman can do whatever he damn well pleases.
