Netflix just dropped a teaser for Narcos season 4 that reveals the departure of actor Pedro Pascal from his starring role as DEA agent Javier Peña.
Pascal's Peña has been with the acclaimed drug drama since its inception, having hunted Pablo Escobar in the first two seasons and gone after the Cali Cartel in season 3.
Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and Michael Peña (Ant-Man and the Wasp) will step in as the series' new stars.
Entertainment Weekly has further details regarding the setting and plot of season 4:
Production recently began on the new season in Mexico City, Mexico, and season four will be set in Mexico. The story will focus on the Guadalajara cartel, and producers have noted that means the show’s focus will be going back in time to the late 1970s and ’80s.
The new season of Narcos is scheduled to premiere in 2018.
