Watch the Thrilling New Trailer For ‘John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum’

“Tick-tock, Mr. Wick.”

With this new preview of John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum, it’s more obvious than ever that Wick’s (Keanu Reeves) world is bigger and even more dangerous than we knew. It’s also apparent that he may not be so alone in his quest to survive the $14 million bounty on his head, after all.

How bad can it be if the price of having Halle Berry as an ally is letting her shoot you in the shoulder?

Yeah, if you haven’t watched the trailer yet, that happens. That, and a whole lot more.

For the uninitiated: At the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, John was slapped with a multimillion-dollar bounty and made “excommunicado” from the services of the assassin underworld’s signature hotel, The Continental. He was last seen with his new dog in tow, fleeing New York on foot.

Parabellum begins where we left off, with the Boogeyman, aka Baba Yaga, doing his best to get out of Manhattan, on horse, motorcycle, or on foot. From there, the trailer reveals that John goes pretty far afield in his effort to recoup and fight back. To the home of Angelica Huston, as The Director, and then eventually to Sophia, who loves dogs as much as he does.

New Wick posters released on the movie’s Twitter account prior to the trailer revealed that there are more new faces—Marc Dacascos as a rival assassin and Asia Kate Dillon as a character called The Adjudicator—and old hands, like Laurence Fishburne’s Bowery King.

We don’t really know how it all fits together yet. For example, is the Bowery King down to get the bounty on John’s head or is he ultimately an ally? Does John truly have an ally?

Whether he does or not may be irrelevant, depending on the perspective. For many, let’s face it, Wick movies are all about the ass-kicking, and that looks more inventive and epic than ever here, complete with swords, knives, and grown dogs, not puppies, who are not even messing around.

John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum blasts into theaters May 17th.
