Olivia Munn Is Producing Her Own CW Series
The actress is creating a show about a female sportscaster in the 1970s — and we can’t wait to watch.
We’ve enjoyed watching Olivia Munn onscreen in things like Attack of the Show! and, yes, even The Newsroom, for the past several years — so we’re thrilled to learn that the actress just sold a television show of her own to the CW.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress will be producing a drama set in 1974 about one of the first female on-air sports reporters. Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) will write the series. And the lead “has to learn to navigate gender politics in front of and behind the camera at a time when women were literally not even allowed in the press box,” THR added.
Munn will not be appearing onscreen herself, but she’ll be the executive producing the whole thing — and we’ve already got our DVR set up.
