Your new single, “Good Time,” just dropped. How would you describe it?

It’s electro-pop. It’s dance music. Afrojack produced it, so it has his sound and drops. It’s fun and upbeat…just a really dope song.

And Lil Wayne does a guest verse! How did you guys get together?

We’ve been friends for years, and then when he was doing his Interview magazine cover, he was asked which celebrity he wanted to be interviewed by. He said he wanted to do it “only if Paris interviews me.” I interviewed him, and we started talking about my record. He was like, “I’d love to be on one of your songs.” He’s so talented. I love him.

We hear you’ve been traveling the world DJing.

I’ve been to India, Brazil, Ibiza, Hong Kong, Singapore, Milan, Germany, Ecuador, Mexico, and I’m going to Russia next week. I’m just going everywhere.

Which of those places is the craziest?

Ibiza is insane. That’s the party island of the entire world, and every night I played there, it would be over capacity, like over 10,000 people just raging. I’d start playing around 3:30 in the morning until 5:30am. It was called “Paris Hilton’s Foam and Diamond Party.” At around 5:30 or 6, I’d go upstairs and spray these huge foam cannons for two hours and cover people in foam. It’s one of the funniest things to watch. In Asia they go crazy too, but they’re mostly on the their iPhones filming and taking pictures.

So when you’re DJing in Ibiza you start at 3:30am?

Nothing gets going until around 3, and then they’re open until around 9.

It’s hard to imagine working after a night like that.

In Ibiza everyone sleeps all day and then goes out at night. It’s definitely a place to party.

How do you pick the music you play?

I go to all the big music festivals like Ultra and EDC, and other big music festivals around the world. I’m always listening to everything. I have friends who are DJs who send me songs. I’ll even go on Twitter and ask my fans, “What’s your favorite song right now?”

You have so many followersthat when you ask a question, you must get thousands of responses right away. Do you actually read all of them?

I love reading Twitter. It’s a lot of responses, but I like keeping in touch with my fans. It’s fun.

You’ve been into music for a long time, right?

Music has always been a big part of my life. Ever since I was 4-years-old, I’ve played the piano. Then at 11, I learned to play the violin. I was always in chorus class. I was always singing, and I’ve been doing voice lessons since I was a teenager too.

Do you ever pick up the violin?

I haven’t played in a while. I still can, but I haven’t.

Your reality show, The Simple Life, along with TheOsbournes and the Real World, was one of the original reality shows. Do you think that’s something you might get back into?

Every single day my agents are getting tons of calls about ideas being pitched, but nothing has really interested me. I’ve really just been focusing on my brand, and building my empire around the world, and opening stores everywhere. It’s not really a priority. Unless something was very interesting and seemed really like I would want to do, then I would do it. Until then, I’m not really focused on it.

Are you and Nicole Richie still tight?

Oh yeah. We’ve been best friends since we were 2-years-old!
