Get ready for the best news you've heard all day: Gorgeous supreme being Rihanna has been cast to star in Luc Besson's new sci-fi movie, Valerian. The film (because if she's in it, this is a legit film) is set to come out in 2017 and we have one wish: Please, please, please let it be in 3D. The announcement was made on Besson's Instagram today.

Based on a graphic novel, the plot of the film revolves around a man and woman (Valerian and Laureline) on a journey to protect the universe in the 28th century. No word yet as to what Rihanna's character will be, but if we had to guess it will be that of a 100% champion. Or something along those lines. Valerian starts filming this winter under a $180 million budget and will also star Cara Delevigne. Shine bright like an alien, y'all.
