Even as more important things were happening in the world, like some Olympians making history and others getting robbed at gunpoint, pop brat Justin Bieber was getting caught up in a social media shit storm courtesy of his very own Belieber fan base.
The “Sorry” singer has recently been linked up with the 17-year old jailbait Sofia Richie, the sister to socialite Nicole Richie and daughter to none other than Lionel Richie himself.
Since Biebs has been flaunting his new relationship on Instagram, his loyal fan base has voiced their opinion in return—and Beliebers seriously dislike his relationship choices. In typical fashion foot-stamping style, the Canadian responded to fans by threatening to shut them out completely and make his profile private, writing “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
The world shook.
Not really. But things did escalate quickly when Bieber’s former girlfriend, Instagram Queen Selena Gomez, jumped in to defend not her ex but his trolls, commenting:
“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you. They were there for you before anyone.”
Bieber, needing the last word, fired this back:
“It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love. I’m not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u all can be kind to my friends and each other. And yes, I love all my beliebers.”

Selena had some words ready and she unloaded, looking to extinguish her ex-boyfriend once and for all with a follow-up comment:
