It was a meeting that was impossible to miss. On the ESPYs red carpet Wednesday night, two of the sporting world’s largest men talked, declared their love for each other and shared a tender embrace. Shaq and The Big Show may have also laid the groundwork for a meeting at Wrestlemania 33.
As you may recall, these two pituitary cases have come face-to-enormous-face in the ring before. The first time was in 2009, when Shaq hosted an episode of Raw and met The Big Show for a stare down that ended with Shaq "knocking" the 7-foot-tall, 440-pound wrestler out of the ring with a forceful shoulder.
Then, in April at Wrestlemania 32, Shaq was a surprise participant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, where he and The Big Show were dumped out of the ring at the same time.
Backstage after the match, Shaq challenged The Big Show to a one-on-one match. Just the two vending machine-sized men in the ring, and no one else. And now the stage may be set for just that.
If it's true, The Big Show has little to fear. He's having a hard getting around in his old age.
