Take a Tour of Camp Firewood in the Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp Trailer

All your camp favorites are back for the eight-episode Netflix series.

Netflix just dropped a trailer for the highly anticipated Wet Hot American Summer prequel, and now we’re ready to go back to Camp Firewood.

The teaser, filmed as an eighties-era television advert for the film’s fictitious summer camp, marks the return of camp favorites Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, Elizabeth Banks, Christopher Meloni, and Michael Ian Black. While we may have been incredulous at these 10-year-too-old actors romping around as counselors back in 2001, the returning cast members, now all over 40, are once again reprising their roles as teenagers.

The series’ first trailer spells victory for the film’s diehard following, which has been doggedly insisting on a reunion for the past ten odd years. Though the satire was a box-office and critical flop upon release, it’s graduated to cult status, and many of its once unknown stars, such as Amy Poehler and Bradley Cooper, have since vaulted to superstardom.

The eight-episode series will premiere on Netflix on July 31st.
