Take Your First Look at X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool, and Suicide Squad
Comic-Con always means one thing: leaked footage galore.
Comic-Con took San Diego by storm this past weekend, giving attendees access to the stars and directors of some of the most beloved comic book film franchises. Luckily for us stuck at home, every year someone manages to sneak in a camera or two and upload footage—albeit very shaky footage—of the most anticipated trailers that haven’t yet been shared on YouTube for all of our consumption.
First up, we get a haunting look atX-Men: Apocalypse. True to its name, Apocalypse has the mutants facing their greatest challenge yet—a being named Apocalypse (hinted at being God, and played by Oscar Isaac) who can control all of them. The mutants also include Olivia Munn (remember how psyched we were about her being cast as Psylocke?), Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, and Game of Thrones favorite Sophie Turner as Jean Grey. Is it May 27th, 2016 yet?
And then there’s the Suicide Squad. A less lovable group for sure, but as Amanda Wallace (Viola Davis) explains, they might just be the people to help save the world, even if they’re acting against their own self-interests. We get glimpses of the whole terrifying gang, with plenty of footage focused on the lovely Margot Robbie, aka Harley Quinn. There’s still much more maniacal footage to be revealed before the August 5, 2016 release, we’re sure.
Finally, Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds has been teasing out his loveable anti-hero on social media for months, and the time has come to see his suit in action. The trailer’s filthy (seriously filthy), funny, and violent—meaning we can’t wait to see what the film serves up on February 12, 2016.
