WATCH: Taylor Swift and Charli XCX Perform an Epic Duet of “Boom Clap”
Two Maxim cover girls; one stage.
Our cover girl Taylor Swift has had some major feuds this year—first with Miley Cyrus and then with Nicki Minaj. But just when it seemed the pop world had turned its back on Swift and her sultry girl squad, another Maxim vixen swooped in to voice T-Swift allegiance.
Charli XCX, our May cover girl, joined Swift on stage during the Toronto stop of her 1989 World Tour for a powerhouse rendition of “Boom Clap.” The boisterous Briton had good-girl T-Swift swaying her hips and letting her freak flag fly.
We support this. We would have loved an encore of “Drop That Kitty,” but any more from two of pop’s hottest forces would have set the roof of the Rogers Centre on fire.
This latest addition to Swift’s coterie of the famous and sexy—which includes Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss—came the same night SNL lampooned it. In a skit from the Season 41 premiere, Aidy Bryant and Vanessa Bayer wandered a dystopian hellscape where Swift’s ever-growing squad had finally engulfed the human race.
That doesn’t really sound that bad to us.
