The Bloody ‘Saw’ Saga Continues with Rumors of an Eighth Installment

New writers are on board, but with no confirmed storyline.

It seems the 8th time might be the charm for sadistic Saw killer, Jigsaw.

Rumors regarding a new installment in the torture porn franchise are swirling despite the terrible response to 2010’s Saw 3D. While the last film was said to be the last of the series, Lionsgate is reportedly moving forward with Saw 8, titled Saw: Legacy. The Tracking Board reports that James Wan and Leigh Whannell will return as executive producers, with Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger penning the script.

Though never typically well-received by critics due to its horrifically graphic content, the movies have continued to thrive at the box office, earning the the franchise a whopping $873 million dollars worldwide. Like many horror series, Saw has continued to entertain its audiences despite the underwhelming nature of the plot.

There’s no word if Saw: Legacy will be into a continuation, a reboot or a prequel to the growing franchise, but you can expect gallons of blood, gore, and intricately complex and punishingly horrifying things to occur whenever it finally hits theaters.
