The second official trailer for Skyscraper features Johnson as a former FBI agent and U.S. war veteran with a prosthetic leg who's tasked with assessing security for the "most advanced super-tall structure in the world."
"It's a breath-taking achievement," Johnson exclaims. "No one really knows what would happen if things go wrong."
Naturally, things go very wrong. From inside the building, terrorists take his wife (Scream actress Neve Campbell) and two young children hostage (a la Die Hard) and set the building on fire (a la The Towering Inferno).
The Rock gets framed for the whole thing. With his family on the line, he's left with no choice but to re-enter the war zone and kick some terrorist ass, John McClane-style.
The big-budget blockbuster was written and directed Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence, We’re the Millers), and produced by Beau Flynn (San Andreas, Baywatch), Johnson, Thurber and Hiram Garcia (San Andreas, Central Intelligence).
See if The Rock saves the day when Skyscraper hits theaters July 13.
