The Walking Dead‘s 7th season premiered in exceptionally brutal fashion on Sunday, revealing who left the show via blows from the villainous Negan‘s baseball bat.
We’ll avoid spoiling who’s gone in case you haven’t been on social media at all for the entire week, but we can tell you that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan, got a real workout battering the entire cast to death.
It was all done, reports Deadline, in the name of throwing off spoilers. One of the alternate deaths, that of Maggie (Lauren Cohan), was recorded from a monitor, perhaps covertly, and that’s what you see in the video above.
Walking Dead thought: The problem isn't violence. It's that the show no longer offers a compelling reason for its characters to try to live.

If you’re one of the viewers of the zombie thriller series who were over the season opener—Twitter was awash in tweets like the one above after it aired—this video won’t make you any more satisfied.
If you hate-watch the show just to see how grueling and bleak it can be, well, maybe the footage of Negan taking everyone out will be released as a DVD extra one day.
We can only hope. Or not.
