When it comes to throwing a memorable rooftop party, a little preplanning can go a long way. For starters, your guests will need plenty to drink. Plan on things going beyond sunset? String some lights so people will be able to see whom they’re talking to … and what they’re eating. Speaking of food, plan a menu that won’t make your guests regret climbing all those stairs (or pushing that elevator button). It goes without saying you’ll need a way to grill all that amazing food you spent the afternoon prepping.


While you’re at it, whip up some banana boats if you really want people to be impressed. They have been known to garner more oohs and ahs than Fourth of July fireworks. And last but not least, set the mood with an appropriate soundtrack to keep the energy up well into the night … or at least until the neighbors show up to complain.
