Throwback Thursday: March 2000 – Jenny McCarthy

Check out what we were up to in March of ’00. Don’t worry, we’ll leave out our middle school class picture.

Every week, we send someone stumbling into the dark Maxim archives to see what we were up to way back when. This week we’re going back to March of 2000, when Jenny McCarthy wasn’t blonde, we used the interwebs to send bags of dog shit to our enemies, and we dressed like Derek Zoolander.

Cover Girl: Jenny McCarthy

Where You’ve Seen Her: Whether she was pulling off the blonde girl-next-door thing (that is, if the girl next door also happened to be a Playboy centerfold) or showing her darker side, we loved every version of Jenny McCarthy. When she graced our pages back in 2000, she was fresh off the set of Scream 3, playing a role that reinforced the old horror movie adage that if you’re ridiculously hot, you’re bound to be one of the first to go.

Where She Is Now: Ms. McCarthy has managed to maintain her position in the spotlight, whether it be on TV or in film. Most recently she had a four-year stint on Two and a Half Men, and currently holds a permanent spot on the morning talk show The View. Oh, and she pretty much still looks like that

Outta Sites

In 2000, we were using a glorious new-ish tool called the Internet to send bags of dog shit to our exes, brush up on our beer knowledge, and get 30-second dramatic readings from hot girls in bikinis courtesy of Bikini Masterpiece Theater. Somehow, two of the three sites still exist – amazingly, the latter isn’t one of them – but we haven’t visited them since. These days, we spend our online hours scanning through sketchy dating sites and watching cat videos on YouTube – er, “working.”

Gear Up: Fast Track

A cross between Derek Zoolander and Miami Vice, our “race car” fashion model was sporting boots – along with a very shiny and expensive ensemble – that we’d no longer touch with a 10-foot pole. However, we must admit that we were way ahead of our time: Zoolander didn’t even hit theaters until a year after this image was published. Huzzah!
