Throwback Thursday: November 2006 – Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton & Danneel Harris
Check out what we were up to in November of ’06. Don’t worry, we’ll leave out our middle school class picture.
Every week, we send someone stumbling into the dark Maxim archives to see what we were up to way back when. This week we’re going back to November of 2006, when the girls of One Tree Hill were taking us back to high school, Malin Akerman was still largely unknown, and Borat had us rolling with laughter.
Cover Girls: Hilarie Burton, Sophia Bush, and Danneel Harris
Where You’ve Seen Them: We’ve stood by one motto our entire lives: the more babes, the merrier. Hence our November 2006 cover, which featured three of the sexiest new TV actresses we could ever imagine: Hilarie Burton, Sophia Bush, and Danneel Harris. The gorgeous threesome hit it big several years prior thanks to their roles on One Tree Hill, a teen soap opera that quickly joined the ranks of series like Dawson’s Creek and The O.C. – whatever those are.
Where They Are Now: Luckily, these girls can still be found gracing our screens, just not necessarily together (bummer). After divorcing fellow co-star Chad Michael Murray, Sophia Bush went on to appear in films like John Tucker Must Die and The Hitcher, and can now be seen on the new TV drama Chicago PD. As for the other two ladies, redhead Hilarie Burton currently stars in CBS’s hit Hostages, and Danneel Harris’ new film Baby Bootcamp is due out in 2014.

The New Knockouts on the Block
“You may not know their names, but you know their pretty faces” is the tagline for this entertainment article featuring some of our favorite girls: Kristin Cavallari, Malin Akerman, and Katie Cassidy. It’s hard to remember any of them as newcomers, especially since Malin and Katie have both posed for Maxim – but it just confirms that we’ve always known how to pick a winner. (And Kristin, our door is always open!)
It’s Sexy Time!
In 2006 a little movie called Borat made Sacha Baron Cohen a household name (and made the neon “mankini” a Halloween costume staple that still refuses to die). Revolving around the character of a Kazakh TV reporter that Cohen perfected on his HBO series Da Ali G Show, audiences everywhere were suddenly introduced to a whole new brand of hilarity. After its success, the comedian went on to make similar films like Bruno and The Dictator, but we think his biggest accomplishment was bagging wife Isla Fisher. Booyakasha!
