Throwback Thursday: October 2005

Check out what we were up to in October of ’05. Don’t worry, we’ll leave out our middle school class picture.

Every week, we send someone stumbling into the dark Maxim archives to see what we were up to way back when. This week we’re going back to October of 2005, when the only thing Vanessa Minnillo was attached to was MTV, there was no such thing as a sexy watermelon Halloween costume, and you could only find Seth MacFarlane on Family Guy.

Cover Girl: Vanessa Minnillo

Where You’ve Seen Her: These days, when we tune into MTV, it’s all catfishing crazies and teen moms. But back in the good old days, the station actually played music videos every afternoon on Total Request Live. Initially hosted by Carson Daly, the gorgeous Vanessa Minnillo took over in 2003 – and finally made that repetitive top 10 list worth enduring. Plus, we were never the types to turn down a good school uniform.

Where She Is Now: TRL came to an end in 2008. But Vanessa‘s career has remained afloat. Moving on to other TV shows including 30 Rock, How I Met Your Mother, and CSI: NY, the Filipino beauty now goes by Vanessa Lachey, courtesy of husband Nick, with whom she recently had a baby. To call her a hot mom would be an understatement.

Featuring:

Revenge of the Seth

It’s hard to remember a time when Seth MacFarlane wasn’t everywhere. Between hosting the 2013 Oscars, turning down the AVN awards, introducing the world to foul-mouthed, pot-smoking teddy bears, and gracefully insulting half of Hollywood, the comedy king’s career has blown up in the best way possible. But back when this article was written, the Family Guy creator was still recovering from the show’s brief cancelation, and putting all of his energy into penning Stewie Griffin’s untold story – at least, in between Triscuit breaks, because, obviously.

How To Heat Up Her Halloween Outfit

In modern times, the Halloween tradition of scantily clad school girls and horny nuns have been expanded to include the likes of juicy watermelons, childhood mascots, and prized dogs. Luckily, a sexy Ebola costume doesn’t exist, though we’re sure it’s only a matter of time until it does. But for now, let’s all take a moment to enjoy these traditional Halloween hotties.
