Throwback Thursday: September 2007 – Lindsay Lohan

Check out what we were up to in September of ’07. Don’t worry, we’ll leave out our middle school class picture.

Every week, we send someone stumbling into the dark Maxim archives to see what we were up to way back when. This week we’re going back to September of 2007, when LiLo was all grown up, we were trying to be healthy, and Rihanna was still a rising star.

Cover Girl: Lindsay Lohan

Where You’ve Seen Her: In 2007, the gorgeous Lindsay Lohan snagged the number one spot on our Hot 100 list, and rightfully so; she’d come a long way since her Disney days and managed to garner success even after puberty. The child star was all grown up, and people were noticing, especially after her roles in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls. Yes, we may have looked slightly creepy wandering into a movie theater full of high school girls, but we like to think this is a judgment-free zone (right? RIGHT?!).

Where She Is Now: Things have definitely changed for Lindsay over the years, and while she temporarily seemed to be in dire straits, we’re happy to see she’s on the up and up. Shortly after her sexed-up role in 2013’s The Canyons – in which she starred opposite porn star James Deen – the actress announced she was set to produce and star in a film called Inconceivable, scheduled to begin shooting this spring. Sure, she’s been through some shit, but if we know Lindsay, it has only made her stronger.

Featuring:

Consume and Destroy

It’s adorable to look back and see how ambitious we once were. Talking scales that use public embarrassment as a weight-loss tactic? Trading in hearty steaks for bird seed? Actually signing up for a mini-marathon rather than just pretending to in order to impress the chick at the bar? That’s adorable. But these days, we prefer to tell it to you straight – we’ve tried the whole eating cardboard and running on a treadmill thing, and it’s the fucking worst. Now pass the bon-bons, we’re starving!

Sun Goddess: Rihanna

These days you can’t go anywhere without hearing one of Rihanna’s songs on the radio, but back in ’07 she was still climbing her way to mega stardom. After a slew of hit singles hit the air waves – most notably “S&M”, “Umbella”, “Rude Boy”, and “Disturbia” – she proved why she was worthy of joining the Hollywood elite, and she hasn’t looked back since. But we have to give ourselves some credit for being the first outlet* to recognize that Rihanna had more than just a beautiful voice; she also had a beautiful body.

*We were not the first.
