Yes, This Toilet-Themed Restaurant Is Real

And you won’t believe what they’re serving. 

You shouldn’t shit where you eat, but one restaurant in Moscow is attempting to put that phrase to rest once and for all.

The Guardianreports that the Crazy Toilet Cafe (yes, that’s its real name), which opened on Friday, has all the accouterments you might expect from such a place: toilet bowl seats, poop-inspired dishes like brown mushroom soup or chocolate soft serve served in tiny toilet bowls, and hot cocktails served in urinal glasses. A meal will run you 500 roubles, or about $8.

Who could’ve possibly thought this up? That would be Alexander Donskoi, the former mayor of Arkhangelsk, a city in northern Russia (Russia, man). He spent eight months in jail after trying to run for president, then opened the G-spot sex museum in Moscow. Sounds like he has the right credentials!

Before we get too grossed out, it’s worth noting this is hardly the first toilet-themed restaurant in the world. There’s a chain of Modern Toilet cafes in Taiwan, and the Magic Restroom Cafe in Los Angeles shut down in 2014. 


Maybe skip this one on date night, though.
