If you’re on the East Coast, chances are that when you’re not busy freezing your balls off, you’re busy piling on layers of clothing in a futile attempt to not freeze your balls off. So you really don’t need another reason to look forward to summer. But here’s one anyway: The trailer for The Awesomes, a new animated series co-created by Seth Meyers and Michael Shoemaker(Late Night with Jimmy Fallon), coming exclusively to Hulu later this year.
Meyers also voices the main character, Prock (aka “Professor Doctor Awesome”), who is leading an effort to restore a pack of misfit superheroes to their former glory following the departure of the group’s more powerful members. Hilarity ensues.
Since SNL alums always travel in packs, expect to find a variety of current and former cast-members lending their voices, including Bill Hader, Kenan Thompson, and Taran Killam. Plus, that’s definitely Rachel Dratch in the trailer. And if it’s good enough for Debbie Downer, it’s good enough for us.
