Val Kilmer Was Offered a Role in Top Gun 2
Iceman is back. Maybe.
Top Gun 2 has been in development hell for the past five years or so at Paramount, but a late night Facebook post from Val Kilmer indicates that the project may be going forward after all.
Kilmer, who played Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in the 1986 classic, posted the following on his Facebook page:
His wording made many people believe that Gene Hackman would be starring the sequel and Francis Ford Coppola would direct (lol), so Kilmer posted a follow-up indicating that while they won’t be involved in this specific project, he wouldn’t ever say no to them:
Oh, Val. Even though it’s not confirmed that he’ll be starring in the film, we hope he does, and we hope it looks a lot like the SNL skit “Iceman — The Later Years.”
