Angry ‘Walking Dead’ Fans Started a Petition for a Cliffhanger Resolution
They will not take this lying down.
Even if you’re one of the few people who doesn’t watch The Walking Dead, you’re probably still aware that Season 6 ended with the cruel and unusual punishment of a dramatic cliffhanger that won’t be resolved until next season’s premiere, which, in TV time, is a lifetime away.
But one particularly extremist fan group will not accept that. They’ve created a Change.org petition demanding that AMC reveal details of the unacceptable cliffhanger before season 7.
Here’s the petition statement, which includes a spoiler:
I would like AMC to show us who Negan killed in the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead. We want this either in an interim episode that borders Season 6 and 7, or a short R-Rated webisode that shows us the death in all its bloody glory. Either of these are fine as long as it’s released before May 30th.
You hear that, AMC! The people want an R-rated webisode. It must be R-rated!
As Uproxx pointed out, the flaw in the petition’s logic is that apparently no one knows who Negan killed — not even The Walking Dead‘s writers. If they really wanted to have fun, they would give into the demands, create a bonus episode or webisode, but have it be a fakeout, and start season 7 from a totally different direction. Just a thought.
