Watch Deadpool Apologize to David Beckham For Making Fun of Him in the First Movie

It’d be nice if Deadpool 2 changed the game for movie trailers from here on out. The teasers have often been ridiculously funny, and comedy is one of the best things about Deadpool in general.
As a movie franchise, the Deadpool movies embrace being meta, constantly joking about the fact these are movies. This promo starring soccer legend David Beckham may be the most meta yet.

The promo begins with Beckham repeatedly watching a scene from Deadpool in which Wade Wilson says, “Looks ARE everything! Ever heard Dave Beckham speak? It’s like he mouth-sexed a can of helium. You think Ryan Reynolds got this far on a superior acting method?”
Beckham is receiving repeated apologetic texts which he ignores, then his doorbell rings. It’s Deadpool—or Ryan Reynolds in costume as Deadpool? It’s not a dumb question, you’ll see—and he’s pulling out all the stops to say he’s sorry until Beckham accepts the apology.

Eventually he does accept, but it only gets more awkward from there, with Beckham finally listing all the Ryan Reynolds movies that merit an apology, such as Green Lantern and Selfless.
They end as friends, though. Sorta.
Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18.
