Victoria’s Secret models hit the runway, and Bob Saget has some “Strange Days.”

There’s a lot of TV options to choose from. Too much for any one person to completely monitor, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to do our best to sift through all the listings and figure out what you should be watching every week…with all the highlights, lowlights and guilty pleasures you can stand.

Tuesday, Nov. 30th


10:00 p.m. Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (CBS)

The weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas are generally a vast wasteland of reruns, but we were able to dig up a few shows worth watching to help you through the holiday freeze. (God forbid you actually have to read a book or something.) We can all agree that Victoria’s Secret’s fashion show is always a stimulating evening, what with incredibly beautiful women walking around in overly complicated underwear. Katy Perry will also be performing, so expect a lot of jiggle. For more perky Perry hotness be sure to check out VH1’s Friday Night Alright at 11 p.m. on, you guessed it, Friday.

10:00, 10:30 p.m. Strange Days with Bob Saget (A&E)

When we heard that The Sag had a new show, we wondered, “Sitcom? Talk show?” The answer to both is no, as Strange Days features our favorite foul-mouthed former TV dad hanging out with various groups of weirdos. Tuesday will feature two episodes where Saget finds himself in the midst of bikers and sasquatch hunters. The awesomeness of this concept can hardly be put into words, and we can’t wait until Saget braves an evening with an entire clan of Couliers.

Thursday, Dec. 2nd


8:00 p.m. Community (NBC)

The study buddies head out to the bar to celebrate Troy’s 21st birthday. As the gang gets plastered, Jeff and Britta get wacky (moreso than usual, even), Annie takes on the persona of her fake ID, and Abed makes a new friend (hopefully another Robocop quote machine). We’re hoping for a slew of Cocktail references or at least an awkward Coyote Ugly moment, but we’ll be happy just to see Jeff and company get plastered.

10:30 p.m. Bully Beatdown (MTV)

Ah, Bully Beatdown. What a wonderful program. It should be called Geek Catharsis, but that might be a little confusing. Tune in as a mixed martial artist beats the holy living hell out of a jackass bully while his victims look on. After all, defending yourself and building confidence are extremely overrated.

Friday, Dec. 3rd


9:00 p.m. Ghost Adventures (Travel Channel)

Cable TV is overstuffed with lousy ghost shows which feature various combinations of people running through dark places and turning scratchy sound clips into “proof” of hauntings. One of our favorites is Ghost Adventures, not because they’re solid investigators, but because their general M.O. when it comes to trying to contact the spirit world is to yell a lot and use devices that supposedly let ghosts talk through them. Of course, wearing Ed Hardy T-shirts destroys any credibility they might have had.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Bravo)

Like most of the other Housewives casts, the Beverly Hills broads have a certain amount of inherent hotness, much of which diminishes every time they open their vapid, money-crazed mouths. But, the added bonus of this season is watching Camille, Kelsey Grammer’s now ex-wife, talking all kinds of shit about other people being jealous and not having as much money as her. Dramatic irony at its finest! (Though we imagine she’s gonna have a lot more of that Frasier money to blow through now that the papers have been filed.)

SO MANY AUCTION SHOWS

Damn, when did inside looks at auctions become the new must-have show of the season? Everybody has thrown their hat in the ring with one in the last month. Tuesday has two airing at the same time, Spike’s Auction Hunters and Discovery’s Auction Kings, both at 10 p.m. Kings focuses on the day-to-day business of an auction house, while Hunters features the new hotness in auction subcultures: bidding on storage units that have been defaulted on. (Breathe in the excitement!) A&E’s Storage Wars (seen above; Wednesdays, 10:00 p.m.) essentially covers the same ground, while Hollywood Treasure, on at the same time and day on Syfy, focuses on an auction house specializing in items from movies and television. What is it in the water at the basic cable networks that creates such a rampant, rip-off mentality? And can we bid on it?
