Extreme dirt biking in a futuristic world: That’s what Trials Fusion does. The Trials games have been around for a while now and have made fans out of gamers by combining an extremely addictive formula of meticulous skill and technique with big air on some of the most innovative tracks you’ll see in any kind of racing game. This is the first time we’re seeing Ubisoft bring Trials to the next-gen consoles, and the major change is the addition of a “trick stick,” so you can finally get credit for all the flipping, Supermanning, and rodeoing that you were probably gonna do anyway. Expect this game to be an obsession for anyone who’s looking for their next-gen gaming fix and is sick of getting their ass kicked in Titanfall.
Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC
Few studios seem to have as much love and passion for their game as Gearbox does for Borderlands, pumping out enough add-on content for the 2012 blockbuster to double what originally came on the disc. Sir Hammerlock vs. the Son of Crawmerax marks the final DLC we’ll be seeing for Borderlands 2, as 2K and Gearbox are now putting their full might behind Borderlands 1.5: The Pre-Sequel. In our book, that’s all the more reason to dig into this final add-on, in which the fan-favorite, mustachioed Sir Hammerlock is on vacation on Wam Bam Island, where he is kidnapped by Crawmerax Jr. in a plot for revenge that you alone can stop. Like the rest of Borderlands’ DLC, this is a new opportunity to shoot and loot on an entirely new part of Pandora, and to save a good friend in the process. If that’s not a send-off you can get behind, we’ll remember not to call you when we get kidnapped by a giant crab worm.
Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn

When Final Fantasy Online first launched in 2010 on the PlayStation 3, it was plagued with issues, rendering it a huge disappointment to the die-hard fans of the FF series. The scrapped and remade ARealm Reborn, which dropped today for PS4, solves nearly every issue anyone ever had with FF Online (except that pesky monthly subscription), and offers the bonus of extra elements from the series’ long and plentiful history. Gamers who are new to the series will find plenty to love even if they don’t get all the references, but A Realm Reborn for PS4 is a labor of love for Square Enix and an homage to the entire Final Fantasy catalog, rewarding true fans for their decades of loyalty. Quick warning: Final Fantasy in any form is going to suck hours months of your life away. When it’s delivered directly to your living room as a massive multiplayer online game, you might as well tell your loved ones that you’ll be in a medically induced coma for the next 5 to 10 years, and not to bother calling.
