This Week In Weird Sports: The Ale Wobble

Biking, much like living, is a lot more fun when you’re drinking.

The Real Ale Wobble

I don’t know why so many weird sports take place in Wales, but I guess when you’re only known for cramming as many consonants as possible into names and getting unbelievably boozed (scroll through this to get an idea of how hard the Welsh drink) you have to do what you can to try and get some positive attention. The Real Ale Wobble, which kicks off the Mid Wales Beer Festival is a 25-mile bike race over the Welsh hills with important “check points” where the riders stop and chug a proper pint of Wale ale. As far as I can tell no one’s been killed during this event, but if you’d like to be the first, get the deets here.
