The Wheels and Waves of Nike’s Summer Competition

Surf’s up, cement’s down at the Nike US Open of Surfing and skating event.

Surfing and skating go together like tennis and roller-tennis. The best surfers and skaters were on display at the NIke US Open of Surfing. (Check out the results here.) Why was skating part of the US Open of Surfing? Shut up. That’s why. Nike was also hosting the Damn Am HB which featured the best amateurs in the world. And skaters competed in the Converse Coastal Carnage, a pro/am skateboarding contest. (Results here.) Plus there was the usual wildness you’d expect to find around half-naked people all crammed together. Check out the shots from one the hottest events of the year.
