It takes a truly special item to stand out amongst the madness of ebay, but yesterday, we stumbled upon such a gem. Mort Bank, a former owner of multiple McDonald’s, listed a gallon (yes, a gallon) of McJordan BBQ Sauce, the condiment adorning the short lived burger of the same name. Even more shockingly, the sauce was purchased just one day later, for the insane price of $9,995. While we can think of a couple people here in our office who would love to take this home, we wanted to truly crack the case; who bought the McJordan sauce? These are our best guesses.

Isiah Thomas

An old rival with a diabolical plot to poison the superstar with his own sauce? Dastardly, but possible.

Metta World Peace

Could the star formally known as Ron Artest mistakenly think that the NBA player’s branded sauce improves with age, like a fine wine? Even more possible.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

The Bobcat rookie is fighting for a starting spot on the team with a Swede (traditionally great basketballers), so could he have dropped the coin in order to impress his new boss?

Larry Bird

The McJordan was regionally known as a “Big 33” in reference to Larry Bird. Is he pulling a power-move by becoming the only man on earth with the sauce?

Shaq

Why would Shaq want the sauce? For the hot dogs, of course.
