Sausage season is upon us (the most glorious time of the year!), and while you’ve been half-assing it with some average-sized bratwurst on your itty-bitty grill, one Wisconsin man has put his heart and soul and a shit-ton of pig intestines into creating the biggest, baddest brat in the world. Suck on THAT, Germany.

On Saturday, Pat Ptacek made a 52-foot-2-inch wurst to mark the 100th anniversary of his family’s grocery store, Ptacek IGA in Prescott, WI. The wiener set a new world record for size, knocking out the previous record-holding sausage, which clocked in at a paltry 47 feet, 3 inches.

To cook the behemoth, the store’s staff built a charcoal grill made of cinder blocks and metal grates. It took over a dozen people to turn the sausage every couple of minutes, and when it was done, they carefully placed the wiener into an equally enormous custom-made bun, which cost the baker, Pan-O-Gold Baking Co., $20,000 to create. That’s a lot of dough. And that’s a double entendre. Deal with it.
