Zac Efron & Jeremy Allen White Channel Iconic ’80s Pro Wrestlers In ‘The Iron Claw’ Trailer
Efron and “The Bear” actor co-star as the legendary Von Erich brothers in a retro-drenched new trailer.
Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White are ready to rumble as two of the Von Erich brothers in a new trailer for The Iron Claw from revered indie film studio A24.
Written and directed by Sean Durkin (The Nest and Martha Marcy May Marlene), the movie depicts the true story of the Von Erichs, a multi-generational family of Texas-bred pro wrestlers that, despite continued success in the ring, has been plagued by tragedy—a reality that’s referenced by the trailer’s opening narration.
“Ever since i was a child, people said my family was cursed,” says Efron’s Kevin Von Erich. “Mom tried to protect us with God, Pop tried to protect us with wrestling. He said if we were the toughest, strongest, nothing could ever hurt us.”
Kevin and White’s Kerry Von Erich are the focus as two of the clan’s most popular members, Deadline notes. They are joined by Harris Dickinson as David Von Erich, Stanley Simons as Mike Von Erich, Maura Tierney as Doris and Lily James as Kevin’s wife, Pam.
