In 2019, Four Roses released Small Batch Select as the Lawrenceburg, Kentucky distillery's first all-new bourbon in over a decade last year, but you could only cop a bottle in five states...until now.
The non chill-filtered, 52-percent ABV blend is rolling out in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Washington and Wisconsin throughout 2020, joining the original launch states of Kentucky, New York, California, Texas and Georgia.
Four Roses is the only bourbon distillery that combines two mash bills with five unique proprietary yeast strains to create 10 distinct whiskey recipes. Master Distiller Brent Elliott hand-selected six of Four Roses’ ten whiskeys, each aged a minimum of 6 years, for Small Batch Select.
“I look forward to sharing this unique offering with more Bourbon drinkers across the country,” Elliott said of the amber spirit, which venerated outlet Whisky advocate named as its top-ranking bourbon of 2019. "Small Batch Select showcases of of our Bburbon recipes and flavors that aren’t as forward facing in the rest of our lineup of Single Barrel, Small Batch and Four Roses Bourbon.”
Here are its official tasting notes:
- Nose: Raspberries, clove, and nutmeg
- Palate: Apricot, berries, vanilla, and light oak
- Finish: Lingering spearmint, light touch of cinnamon
Priced at $55, Four Roses Small Batch Select can be found via the distillery's retailer search engine.
