The famed Lynchburg-based distillery is set to roll out Jack Daniel’s Heritage Barrel, a new expression from their Single Barrel collection of spirits.
Master distiller Jeff Arnett and his team began by personally selecting just 200 hand-crafted American white oak barrels constructed at the Jack Daniel’s Cooperage. Each was then slowly heated to create a deeper, richer toasted layer prior to being charred.
These “Heritage barrels” were used to mature whiskey in the uppermost points of the highest-elevated JD barrel houses. The resulting 100-proof product has “warm notes of vanilla and sweet baking spices with a lingering finish of oak.”
“We hold ourselves to the highest standard when crafting and selecting Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel products,” says Arnett.
“The unique barrel toasting behind ‘Heritage Barrel’ creates a flavor you won’t find in any other Single Barrel expression. We believe we’ve made a whiskey that would make our earliest coopers and Mr. Jack himself proud.”
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Heritage Barrel will retail for $64.99 beginning in October.
