A series of lackluster installments have earned the game’s makers a reputation for recycling old features under shiny new veneers, and some serious battle fatigue has set in even among hardcore fans.

But with its frenetic new game, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, the Treyarch team has finally come up with something worth fighting for. The year is 2065. War has evolved. Elite Black Ops soldiers with technologically-advanced capabilities are out on the front lines, fighting humanity’s battles.


It’s not a pretty picture, but it’ll make for a damn pretty battlefield when it comes to current-gen consoles and gamers looking for their next shooter fix. 

The latest trailer finally delves into the campaign mode’s storyline, which is par for the course when it comes to the Black Ops continuity. We won’t ruin it here so you can enjoy the clip in its entirety, but know that it ties in with a recent publicity stunt from Call of Duty that had many scratching their heads.

Fans were left wondering if Malaysia had indeed suffered a major attack after corresponding tweets on the Call of Duty Twitter account began popping up in reference to the Black Ops III campaign.
