This Tricked-Out Throne Is Every Hardcore Gamer’s Paradise

One may enter, none may leave.

Gaming central within a scorpion-like lair

The Emperor XT, MWE Lab’s sleek successor to their discontinued 200 model from a few years ago, looks like it’d have great applications in security, aeronautics, radiology—oh, who are we kidding? With up to five displays, surround sound and 35 degrees of tiltability, this throne’s clearly meant for gamers!

Based on how you choose to customize this “workstation,” various configurations range from roughly $5,000 to $20,000. The only question is: How would you like yours? Of course, given the myriad options to choose from, it may take a while to answer that question. (But at least you’ll have fun doing it.)

For instance, you can choose from a variety of colors and finishes for the frame, decorative accents and trims; three sinfully luxurious-looking leather seats, with optional heat and massage; audio that ranges from run-of-the-mill stereo up to Bose virtual surround or Cambridge Audio true 5.1. And then of course you have your work lights, accent lighting…and hopefully a somewhat comfy place to sit as you decide on all this.

When your made-to-order gaming conclave arrives in its 5-foot cubed box, it’s already mostly assembled. But you’ll still have about half an hour’s worth of work to do (so they tell us) before it’s ready for you to electronically raise its scorpion-like tail and enter. Never to be seen or heard from again.
