As French jets pounded ISIS targets in Syria on Sunday in retribution for the terror attacks on Paris, the militant group responded with a chilling message: Washington, D.C., is next.
In a new video posted "on a site used by Islamic State to post its messages" on Monday, ISIS threatened an imminent attack on Washington and promised that countries participating in airstikes in Syria would face their wrath, Reuters reports.
In the clip, a man wearing military fatigues identified in subtitles as “Al Ghareeb the Algerian” delivered a harsh warning for countries participating in the "crusader campaign" against the terror group:
We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington...
I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before.
While this video hasn't been officially authenticated yet, the International Business Times notes that this chilling message to the West was published by a group calling itself “Wilayah Kirkuk” or “State of Kirkuk," an organization which has published dozens of ISIS propaganda videos in the past.
