James Deen’s Porn Company Is Currently Under Investigation
As more women accuse Deen of sexual assault, his company faces legal trouble.
On Tuesday, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of California (Cal/OSHA) announced that it had opened an investigation to James Deen Productions, but it’s not all about the allegations of sexual assault from multiple women in the past several weeks. It’s also about condoms, or lack thereof.
According to the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHS) in a statement to The Frisky, the group proposed a measure where adult film companies shooting pornographic scenes in Los Angeles must get a health permit first, and those health permits, under the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, require the use of condoms on set. In 2012, California voters passed the measure.
As a result, the OSHA is citing “serious workplace health and safety violations” by James Deen Productions, alleging that the company did not provide condoms on set. The OSHA has also levied a similar accusation against Kink.com, a company that employed Deen until recently. Both companies could incur serious fines if found in violation.
All of this comes as a total of 13 women have accused Deen of sexual assault and physical abuse. The two most recent women to come forward with accusations are Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham and Holly Jee.
We will continue to update this story as it develops.
