Nice Guys Actually Get Laid More Than the Rest of Us, Says New Research

Turns out women don’t love bad boys as much as we thought.

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard the expression “nice guys finish last.” Well, guess what? Contrary to popular belief, nice guys do not finish last. In fact, they finish first, because they get laid the most. No pun intended.

Before I go on, I think I need to establish the difference between the “nice guy,” and an actually nice guy. When I say nice guy, I mean a genuinely good person who is a kind man, and not that wannabe “nice guy” who tries way too hard to look vulnerable and spends most of his time kissing the ass of his attractive female friends. That’s not cute. Everyone hates that “nice guy.”

Anyway, everyone throughout history has always been under the impression that rebellious bad boys always get the most ass because they’re mysterious and sexy, but in an interesting turn of events, it turns out that’s not true. Apparently, research points to the idea that women are more attracted to nice guys rather than to bad boys. Who knew?

A study conducted at the University of Guelph and Nipissing University asked 800 people about their sexual history, as well as how likely they were to engage in selfless acts, such as charity work and donating blood, in order to understand if there was a correlation between altruism and the amount of sex people have.

The study found that people who were more selfless had more sex and dated more people than those who were selfish, which makes sense, because selfish people are annoying. So yeah, that’s one piece of evidence that shows nice guys finish first. 

In another study, 500 college students were surveyed about their sex lives, and then, to gauge how altruistic they were, were asked the question: “If you won $100, would you give it all to charity, keep all of it, or give some of it to charity?”

Like the previous study, it was found that the men who were more selfless and kind had waaay more sex than everyone else, which suggests all the hunnies want to get with nice dudes, not egoists.

Researchers conclude that the whole thing about women being attracted to bad boys is a heaping pile of horse shit, because the truth of the matter is that women are attracted to confidence, and while yes, bad boys are confident, they tend to be douchey and emotionally unavailable, which isn’t sexy.

Nice guys, on the other hand, are ambitious, funny, intelligent, and most importantly, emotionally available. And that, my friends, is sexy. As a woman, I can vouch for that.
