‘Austin Powers’ Co-Star Verne Troyer Dead at 49
He was famous for playing Dr. Evil’s “Mini-Me.”
Verne Troyer, famous for his role as Dr. Evil’s “Mini-Me” in Austin Powers, has died.
TMZ reports that Troyer, who was born with a form of dwarfism, died on Saturday. His passing was first reported on his Facebook page.

TMZ recently reported that Troyer was hospitalized, taken in by police after he was reported to be suicidal. The gossip site also said he “was treated for possible alcohol poisoning.” He’d reportedly done several stints in rehab.
Troyer’s first work in Hollywood was stuntwork in Baby’s Day Out. He was ideal for the job as he was considered one of the shortest men in the world. He moved on to bit parts in movies including Men in Black, then broke out in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me in 1999.
Verne Troyer’s later career was comprised of movie work interspersed with appearances on reality television.
