Mysterious Substance in Capitol Hill Office Sends Staff to Hospital

Capitol Hill police are investigating.

An unknown substance found Friday on Capitol Hill sent eight people to the hospital. The Washington Post reported the “suspicious” substance was found in the Longworth House Office Building inside Suite B-227.

According to the Post report, ten people were evaluated by first responders and eight were sent to medical facilities with what D.C. fire department spokesman Timothy Wilson vaguely called “minor symptoms.” 

It is currently unclear what the substance in question is. This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
