The Gorgeous New Ducati SuperSport Is Perfection on Two Wheels
Mamma mia.
Ducati thrilled visitors to the InterMot motorcycle show in Germany by unveiling the new 2017 SuperSport, a 113-horsepower 900 cc V-twin. Unlike the Bolognese company’s race replica Panigale, the SuperSport is intended for spirited street riding, like the namesake original 750 Super Sport.
That means a more relaxed riding position for rider and passenger alike, better wind protection, and the convenience of a large 4.2-gallon fuel tank to provide long riding range.
The SuperSport comes with antilock brakes and traction control, but for even better handling, customer can upgrade to the SuperSport S, which adds adjustable Ohlins suspension, a quick-shift, and a solo cover for the rear seat.
“Expert riders will appreciate the true sports personality of the SuperSport, its excellent road performance and evident penchant for journeying and everyday use,” remarked Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali. “Riders approaching the Ducati sports world for the first time will discover versatility, easy handling and, above all, the very essence of sports riding as Ducati sees it.”
Maybe we should pretend to be skeptical so they’ll loan us a bike to prove it…
