Bentley Is Getting Into Public Transportation With the Mulsanne Blue Train

Naturally, it’s only available in Europe.

Eighty-five years ago this week, then-Chairman of Bentley Motors Captain Woolf Barnato wagered that he could drive a Bentley Speed Six back to London from Cannes before the Calais-Mediterranean Express (or the “Blue Train”) even reached the English Channel. Capt. Barnato won the bet, and that triumph has delighted car fans for decades. To mark that historic win, Bentley Mulliner—the brand’s bespoke service—is releasing four Blue Train Mulsannes, exclusively for its European customers. The cars will have special paint (…the color is anyone’s guess…) and special wheels, plus a special “fluting pattern” on the interior door panels (no one can out-Bentley Bentley). This train will definitely not be stopping at your station, Yankee, but it’s sure nice to look at.
