This Four-Door Sedan Has Come to Kill the Corvette

Back in 1996, “Macarena” ruled the charts, Braveheart was king of the Oscars, and Chevy produced its last rear-wheel drive performance sedan. Seventeen years later, the all-new SS is reclaiming that all-important spot in Chevrolet’s lineup. As Mark Reuss, president of General Motors North America, puts it, “The SS fills that void better than any other vehicle in the brand’s rich history.” Powered by a massive 6.2-liter V8—the same engine used in the Corvette—the family-friendly four door (yeah, there’s plenty of room for your girl and all your illegitimate kids) delivers an extremely impressive 415 horses. The best part? You can start getting excited now, because the SS will be available by the end of the year…just in time to get “Macarena” back out of your head. (Sorry about that.)
