Get Plugged into Cadillac’s New Electric Beauty

The hottest car company in America is going electric with the Cadillac ELR.

It’s been quite an impressive year for Cadillac. First, the 2013ATS was named the best car of the year by publication after publication. (We enjoyed it plenty ourselves.) Next, their gorgeous Elmiraj concepthad our jaws on the floor when it was unveiled earlier this fall. Then, just last week, Motor Trend named the new CTS its “2014 Car of the Year.” Not bad for a company you once associated with your Grandpa Jack!

Now, meet the Cadillac ELR. Don’t go thinking that the first Caddy hybrid is nothing more than a Chevy Volt in a tracksuit. Taking cues from the futuristic CTS coupe, the ELR’s elegant design makes it look strikingly faster than its specs would indicate. You may not even mind riding in the slow lane thanks to the ELR’s no-holds-barred interior, complete with leather accents and burled grey wood (sure beats sitting on crumb-covered futon at home!). And while you won’t impress anyone with your lap time, you’ll surely get the attention of that cute girl at the food co-op by cruising for 300 miles on a single charge. Looks like Caddy did it again.
