AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50

As part of the year-long recognition of the founding of AMG a half-century ago, Mercedes-Benz has issued a quartet of hot special editions to serve as tributes to the high-performance brand.

Mercedes-AMG will build just 50 550-horsepower AMG GT Roadster Edition 50s for the U.S. market in eye-catching matte Graphite Grey Mango complimented with black chrome accents on the side skirt trim, front splitter, trim strips in the air intakes of the Panamericana grille, fins on the side air outlets in the front fenders, on the rear diffuser and tailpipe trim elements.

Those dark exterior touches are matched inside by the AMG Interior Night Package, which includes steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and door sill panels finished in black. Silver seat belts and black chrome trim throughout the cabin serve as contrasting elements.

Performance remains satisfactory, with 3.7-second 0-60 mph acceleration and an electronically limited 196-mph top speed.

If the AMG GT Roadster Edition 50 is a fighter, then the 503-horsepower C63 S Cabrio Ocean Blue Edition might be a lover. It is decorated in the unique shade Cashmere White Mango with a Deep Ocean Blue fabric convertible top.

Inside, the C63 S Cabrio special edition is distinguished by Crystal Grey nappa leather with lavish diamond quilting and Deep Ocean Blue contrasting topstitching. Front and center in the cockpit is a black-rimmed steering wheel borrowed from the AMG S63 Cabriolet, with a flattened bottom section finished in nappa leather and silver-colored buttons.

The AMG C43 Coupe and Cabriolet also get the AMG Studio Performance Package, which details the cars in black trim inside and out. Matte black wheels with polished rims help these models stand out at the valet curb.

It looks like Mercedes is going to keep rolling out AMG surprises to celebrate the brand’s birthday, and drivers are the beneficiaries.
