We’ve been obsessed with Need for Speed—the best racing game since Pole Position—since the first version was released for PlayStation way back in ’94. And now that it’s coming out as a feature film next March, well, let’s just say we’ve already slipped on our driving gloves. Starring Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul (hey, we’re gonna be missing him now that his show is ending), the movie sounds pretty cool to us: “A street racer fresh from prison who was framed by a wealthy business associate joins a cross country race with revenge in mind. His ex-partner, learning of the plan, places a massive bounty on his head as the race begins.” But what, pray tell, will this ex-con be racing in? A totally sick, totally pimped out Ford Mustang, of course! The “Need for Speed” Mustang features a custom-designed wide body, unique 22-inch alloy wheels, and larger air intakes to feed the supercharged V8 engine under its classic twin-nostril hood. Mustangs already have a storied place in cinema history—the chase in Bullittthrough the streets of San Francisco is widely considered the greatest of all time—so let’s hope that Aaron and his pony car can maintain the tradition…bitch!
Need for Speed hits theaters March 14, 2014.
